The new year is here. It’s time to regroup, reorganize, and start something new. A lot of people think about the past and feel bad about all the things they didn’t do. You can’t change the past. Let that go and focus on what you can do today.

New year’s resolutions are made in many shapes and sizes. As we were discussing this among ourselves, we got a little curious. What are the top new year’s resolutions subjects? Google is great for the curious.We found an article at goskills.com that we want to share. It’s about the Top 10 Most Common New Year’s Resolutions and How to Follow Through on Them. Four of the top ten are: exercise more, lose weight, learn a new skill or hobby, and live life to the fullest. We can help with those four.

Find Something Interesting to Start Something New

We admit, we might be a little biased but we think martial arts should be the something new you start. It’s exercise, which helps with weight lose. It’s a new skill, certainly a useful one. Not only is there the more obvious self defense component, but there are also soft skills relating to body awareness, situational awareness, conflict resolution, and communication skills that are learned while you are learning martial arts specific skills. All of this happens in the same class, at the same time – though it may not be obvious.

We mentioned being able to help with a another popular resolution, living life to the fullest. We don’t tell you how to live or judge you, but we do create an environment for self-discovery and development.
